MNSure Referral

Eligibility requirements

Minnesota Residency: Must be a resident, with different rules for those under and over 21. Temporary absences are generally allowed.
U.S. Citizenship or Legal Status: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or lawfully present in the U.S. to qualify.
Exclusions: Individuals covered by Medicaid or a private plan through another state’s marketplace are generally not eligible, unless that coverage is ending.
Voluntary Information: Providing Social Security numbers and immigration status is optional but can affect eligibility.
Special Cases: Incarcerated individuals are generally not eligible, with some exceptions. Emergency medical care has different rules.
Data Verification: MNsure verifies citizenship or immigration status through data matching with the Social Security Administration or the Department of Homeland Security.

We are delighted to collaborate with community professionals and social service agencies to extend the reach of our MNsure Navigation services. We warmly welcome referrals from Targeted Case Managers, Waiver Case Managers, as well as other social service agencies
